Jean Shrimpton was happy with herself and how she felt. She knew that things might not always be perfect and in acknowledging that she did not expect perfection so could overlook it and just gave of her best. The young lady I mentioned allowed things to get to her, she possibly had a feeling of importance and expected people to know she was important and treat her accordingly. So she was used to showing her feelings to all and sundry which turned out to be a big mistake. The following year at the same show I noted that she was no longer part of the group. It is a pity either no one was kind enough to tell her the truth about her behaviour, or when told she could not relate to the truth or did not wish to hear it.
It really does not matter if you are wearing the height of fashion for the season, if you are feeling self conscious because your clothes are too tight or not what you are happy about wearing it just does not work for you. The only way to get things right is to work on yourself TODAY! Dont keep putting off that exercise that you know you need to do, or sorting your skin out. You may argue that you truly dont have time, yet you do find the time to drop into the shop for a chocolate or snack or even stand with your friends for a smoke! If you wait for the right timing believe me you will wait forever. Once you have got yourself feeling good and looking good it really does not take much time to maintain it. 15 to 25 minutes is more than enough time for this and it is truly worth it. Aim at looking your best from the time you step out of the shower each morning to the time you step into it the next day. No more going to bed with an old T-shirt, shorts, long football socks and an old knitted "Beanie" on your head. You never know what may happen in the middle of the night.
Lets have a good look at what really matters in the art of looking great.
- The first and most important is having a lovely smile. I personally had to practice this in a mirror until I discovered a good smile. You do not always have to show your teeth.
- Hold yourself up straight. Straighten your back and keep all your weight over your hips. Use a shoulder bag with a long strap over just one shoulder (not across the body) as a plimsol line to keep you standing up straight. The bag should drop right next to your body and flat against your hip.
- Keep your hair clean and moving. It really is not flattering to wear a mans hairstyle. Short hair must be long enough to move and have the gleam of healthy hair.
- Look after your hands and feet. Even if you are a nail biter cream your hands daily and do your best to break the habit. Feet also need daily attention.
- Do your best to lose bulges through exercise. Allow your clothes to be a little looser to cover the bulges so they are not seen. Exercise and diet is the key to losing weight.
- Do get a professional to help you find the right sized bra to give you a good bust line with no spilling over or drooping.
- Define your waist line. It is trendy at present to wear things hanging from your hips, so avoid looking like a box by defining your waist line.
- Your complexion is important. Keep it clear, clean and healthy. There are many inexpensive products that can help you to sort out problems.
- Cream your legs aand ankles. If you have water on your ankles get to a doctor and ask for help. This is a sign of hig blood pressure.
- Lastly, wear clothing that flatters your figure, not just because you feel comfortable in them. Comfort is important too but not at the expenses of your good looks.
